Five bedrooms split the difference between fun and calm. A few lean all the way into the theme, ship-deck bunk rooms with portholes and rope rigging, a captain's cabin under sail-mast beams, the kind of rooms kids beg to sleep in. The rest are serene coastal retreats in soft blues and whites, some with desks for anyone sneaking in a little work. Three full bathrooms plus a powder room keep big groups moving.

The Privateer sits in a quiet boating community on Tampa's west side with a tucked-away, easygoing feel. You're roughly 10 minutes from Tampa International Airport, a short hop to the Courtney Campbell Causeway and Ben T. Davis Beach, and about 15 to 20 minutes from downtown Tampa, Raymond James Stadium, and the Riverwalk. Busch Gardens and the Gulf beaches are an easy drive.
