Things to Do at Kennedy Space Center

The Kennedy Space Center has a lot to offer visitors of all ages. One of the most popular attractions is the Shuttle Launch Experience, which gives visitors a taste of what it’s like to blast off into space. Other highlights include the Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit, which features a full-scale replica of the space shuttle, and the Rocket Garden, which showcases historic rockets from NASA’s past.

Admission to the Kennedy Space Center starts at $75 for adults and $65 for children (ages 3-11). There are also a number of add-on experiences available for an additional fee, such as lunch with an astronaut or a behind-the-scenes tour of the complex.

Time Required

To fully explore all of the exhibits and activities at the Kennedy Space Center, it is recommended that visitors plan to spend at least a full day at the complex.  During our day trip, we spent 6 hours and wished we had more time to read more of the educational posts in exhibits.  With so much to see and do, it’s easy to fill an entire day with fun and educational experiences.  To keep you fueled, there are several places you can purchase lunch or a snack.

The Kennedy Space Center is designed to be a family-friendly destination, with many exhibits and activities that are specifically geared towards children. If you’re lucky enough to visit the Kennedy Space Center during a rocket launch, it’s an experience you’ll never forget. The center offers a number of viewing locations for rocket launches, including the Apollo/Saturn V Center and the Rocket Garden.
